Since 1894 the Magasin du Nord that we know today has been located on Kongens Nytorv in the heart of Copenhagen; and more than 115 years after the opening the department store is as popular as ever.

Each year more than 7 million people visit Magasin du Nord including Copenhageners, shoppers from out of town and tourists; it covers 30,000 m² spread out over 7 floors, and is Denmark’s largest department store.

What characterises Magasin is that it has always been a focal point for people who are interested in a good deal combined with good service and an extremely wide choice of products.

Thus Magasin’s cosmetics department has for many generations been well worth a visit, and for the last two years the department has been chosen as Denmark’s best cosmetics department.

In 1953 Magasin opened its first self service food and wine department. Which today we know as Mad & Vin which has won many honours throughout the years – and which recently has been chosen as one of the world’s best food departments. Here one can purchase, for example, Magasin’s homemade chocolate which it has produced since 1933 as well as a wealth of other delicacies; and at the same time one can find inspiration in Denmark’s largest range of international magazines.

For those men and women who are interested in fashion there are more than 500 top brands to chose from and if you could do with a change of style or just want to increase your wardrobe help can be obtained from Magasin’s Personal Shoppers.

Magasin’s choice of products for the home is one of the largest in the country, and should you become hungry or thirsty whilst shopping, you can visit the restaurant on the top floor where you will also find a Kusmi Tea Lounge, in the basement there is Meyers Deli and on the ground floor Joe and the Juice.

If one visits Magasin today the atmosphere is the same as when the two merchants Wessel & Vett founded the department store, it is more than just shopping – It is bargains, a lifestyle, and a meeting place for everyone.

In addition to Kongens Nytorv, Magasin department stores are found in Lyngby, Odense, Århus, Rødovre and in Fields shopping centre in Ørestaden, and it employs more than 1200 people.

Polo Jeans Co. Ralph Lauren Art Stars

Polo Jeans Co. Ralph Lauren Art Stars

In January 2010, Polo Jeans Co. Ralph Lauren commissioned over 40 of Europe’s most exciting young contemporary artists to customise stars made from the finest American denim.

With the iconic Stars and Stripes flag for inspiration, each young artist was tasked with creating something totally unique: beyond the shapes and sizes of the Art Stars, the only limit was their imaginations...

Each Art Star will appear in a Polo Jeans Co. store, before joining a public exhibition in London in late 2010.

Contemporary art and fashion aficionados will have the opportunity to own one of these exclusive Art Stars.

All the stars created will be brought together in a public exhibition in London in late 2010 and auctioned in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust.

Teenage Cancer Trust is a charity dedicated to improving the lives of young people with cancer between the ages of 13-24.

Teenagers don’t stop being teenagers because they have cancer, which is why Teenage Cancer Trust builds specialist units in NHS hospitals, staffed by teenage cancer specialists.

These units are designed for and by young people and aim to give teenage cancer patients the very best chance of a positive outcome whilst being as close as possible to normal life.

State-of-the-art facilities keep patients occupied during long, and often grueling stays, whilst bringing teenagers with cancer together so they can support each other.
