Yassine Mekhnache or ‘Yaze’ grew up in Lyon and worked as a graffiti artist before moving to Paris and fine art. Building from a starting point of the human face, Yaze creates semi-abstract paintings and life-size sculptures that vaguely resemble himself. His technique is unique: rather than spray paint, oils or acrylics, he works with a garden spray filled with inks and markers. Yaze is extremely well known in his home country and has exhibited in solo shows across France and Belgium.
